Western Isles Mussels is a family run business based out of Loch Leurbost, on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. These waters are Certified Class A Grade and are subject to rigorous testing and quality control processes throughout the harvesting year. The Business was established initially in 1985 as a part time venture, with the family helping at harvest times to meet the growing local and national demand for mussels grown off the West Coast of Scotland. In 1990, the business expanded to become a full time operation andwe incorporate the latest and most efficient spat collection methods, growing, harvesting, packing and delivery processes to meet the ever growing demand for high quality shell fish directly from Scottish Waters.
